HUNTSVILLE, AL – February 2023 – Intuitive Research and Technology Corporation’s (INTUITIVE®) Co-Founder and CEO Emeritus, Rey Almodóvar, P.E., was inducted into the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame at a ceremony held at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Convention Center on February 25, 2023. This year, six individuals and one corporation were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
The State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame was chartered by the governor in 1987 to honor those individuals, corporations and projects associated with the state that have brought credit to the engineering profession. A total of 215 individuals, 46 projects and 33 firms have been recognized by the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame since its inception. These inductees span across the State from all industries and personify the impact engineering has played on the economy, quality of life, and standard of living for the people of Alabama. Stuart Bell, Milton Davis, Jr., Tim McCartney, Thomas Talbot, and Michael Wicks were among the other individuals inducted alongside Almodóvar. Dynetics, Inc. was recognized as the corporate inductee.
Almodóvar graduated from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Engineering with his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (BSIE), obtained his Master of Science in Business Administration (MSBA) from Texas A&M University – Texarkana and then to the University of Arkansas to achieve his Master of Science in Engineering (MSE).
In 1999, after a 14-year career as an engineer for the U.S. Army, Almodóvar co-founded the Huntsville-based professional engineering and analysis firm. His guidance and expertise over the last 23 years has made INTUITIVE a renowned aerospace and defense company.

Almodóvar is a mentor of the youth and an ambassador to the North Alabama community. He supports charitable organizations, local schools, and young professionals through incentive programs and volunteering. Over the years, multiple organization have recognized Almodóvar for his technical expertise, leadership, entrepreneurship, and philanthropic commitment to improve his community. He has served on the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Board, National Children Advocacy Center (NCAC) Board, the Huntsville/Madison County Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Council of Alabama (BCA), among others. He continues to serve on the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission (ASSEC), and the Industry Advisory Board of his Alma Mater the University of Puerto Rico.
